Testimonials

It was so energizing. I just can’t stop gushing about the experience. People had such a positive reaction to you all and your humor. The show created a warm, friendly atmosphere. I’m still hyped up over it.

-Pastor Bonnie Barber, Community of Christ Church, Washington DC

We recommend inviting Interfaith Comedy to your campus. This troupe of fun, engaging, and talented comics had our college students laughing the entire time. We plan to keep Interfaith Comedy as a regular guest for our new student Welcome Week.

-Maeba Jones,  Director of Religious and Spiritual Life, Goucher College

With so many diverse voices from different faiths, the laughs felt more meaningful. This show is a thoughtful and intentional way into a conversation around how people of faith engage in the world and navigate multiple identities.

-Sara Shalva, Chief Arts Officer of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore, Gordon Center for the Performing Arts Owings Mills, MD

Interfaith Comedy is a great show! The comedians are hilarious, relatable, clean, and knowledgeable. The laughter is non-stop. The Q&A at the end was a great opportunity to learn more about the different faiths of each comedian and how comedy plays a role in bringing us together. Highly recommend!

-C. Baskin, UC Santa Barbara, Alumni Affairs

What a great show last night! My wife was skeptical about going to a comedy show with a religious theme to it and was completely won over. Good laughs and a positive message that did not come off as too preachy. You really have something unique here!

Michael Kirsch, Audience Member

Thank you for your generosity of sharing your gifts for comedy as well as your generosity of spirit to create blessed community.

-Reverend Dave Milam, Executive Director of

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never heard of Interfaith Comedy.

You’re not alone – we’re niche! We are laughter + social justice + tolerance + education + a love of (and struggle with) religion. We’re excited to bring our brand of anti-bias work to the world. Our consistent bookings, and the fact that we’ve performed at some places more than once, mean that this is something people really want.

How do I see your show?

If we are performing near you, come on down!

OR

Invite us! We can perform at your synagogue, church, mosque, conference, university, community organization, fundraiser/gala, party, retirement home, even your dental appointment. They’d love us there.

Is this show offensive?

Audiences tell us that we are a feel-good show. Our comedians tell jokes about their own religion, no one else’s. We bring people together to reduce prejudice in a safe, non-threatening way.

What happens at the show?

Comedians tell jokes.
The audience laughs.
Bam! World peace.

What actually happens at the show?

Our show is 90 minutes. That’s 70 minutes of stand-up comedy + a 20 minute Q&A.

During the Q&A, a facilitator from our troupe asks the comedians a couple of questions, and then we open it up to the audience.
This is the reflective portion, where we can bask in the afterglow of the laughs, and connect more deeply.

Did you just say “bask in the afterglow of the laughs”?

I might have.

What are your fees?

Depends on your location and the number of comedians. Contact us with your location and we can give you more specifics.

If you’re Maryland-based, you may quality for a grant – see here.

For places of worship with small budgets, we suggest co-sponsoring the event with another place of worship. Diverse audiences are the best!

Are there restrictions on days/times for a show?

If you want us to perform Sunday to Thursday, we can usually do that.

We do not perform on Friday nights and Saturday nights are limited.

We must work around a long list of holidays, so there are certain days/weeks that are off limits (I see you there, Ramadan).

We know you understand. Otherwise, you probably wouldn’t have made it this far down the website.

If you are interested in having us perform, send us a date (two is even better) and ask if we’re available!
